Hey! My name is Courteneye , and I am a second year Nursing major. The said topic that I will be talking about today is nature. Nature to me is something that is spiritual ,yet entertaining. I'm from a small town ,so in my opinion I'm very acquainted with nature. I love the fact that living in the country gives me a chance to interact with nature, and experience nature in different degrees; whether it be on a glorious sunny Sunday morning, or a stormy Thursday night. I often find myself sitting on the porch when it rains on any given summer afternoon, and listen to the rain. It is so calming and peaceful to me. I use this time as an escape from my" hectic" life. I love to listen to the different sounds of nature, whether its the pounding of thunder or the pitter pater of rain on the roof. Nature is something that I have grown to love, and on my occasional summer trips to the city of Chicago I find myself missing the simplicity and calmness of nature.
From the spiritual aspect that I mentioned at the beginning of this post; nature is indeed spiritual. I do in fact believe that everything on this earth is a gift from God. Nature is something that we should learn to appreciate and thank God for. We as humans are very powerful individuals in terms of nature. In the bible God gave humans dominion (power) over the earth. For example, The New International Bible says, "Let us make mankind in our image,...so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky..."Another example that I can use is the rainbow that is occasionally in the sky after a storm. The rainbow represents the promise that God made to mankind that he would not destroy the Earth by water (flooding) again. Those are just some of the ways that nature is truly expressed in a spiritual and or biblical sense.
These are my thoughts and expressions on the topic of "nature". Whether your thoughts are more philosophical, or are more from a personal experience as mine, I look forward to hearing others thoughts on the topic of that which is nature.
